In 1996, Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP formed Hinckley, Allen & Tringale Health Strategies ("HAT"), a limited partnership created to provide a wide range of professional services including strategic planning, network and contract development, product and business development, and crisis management services to clients working within the health care industry.
HAT provides contracting strategy, integrated contracting strategy into health system/hospital strategy to optimize the overall impact of contracts, and conducts negotiations for a significant number of Massachusetts providers.
HAT provides physician network strategy, physician education, physician structure and governance advice, as well as contracting support to physician organizations belonging to, affiliated with, and utilizing the above institutions.
We currently represent the Massachusetts Hospital Association as lead consultant on all private sector financing issues, as well as free care and government payer sector support. This includes annual analysis of overall conditions of all managed care plan operations in Massachusetts, both domestic and foreign, and numerous speaking appearances to MHA boards and committees about all aspects of managed care industry. We have represented MHA in Harvard-Pilgrim receivership before the Attorney General and Massachusetts Division of insurance.
HAT has extensive experience with contracting for all pharmacy benefits, our BCBS Medex drug contracts were the largest non-governmental agreements with PBMs in the northeast United States. Elinor Socholitzky, one of our principals, was the product leader for Tufts Health Plan's medicaid product.
HAT's contracting services include expertise and the ability to construct proposals to payers under every contracting method currently being utilized in this region. Recent inpatient models include those that utilize capitated budgets with full or partial risk, DRG based systems, per diems, and rate based systems or some combination of all of the above, with and without carve-outs for high costs procedures, implantable devices, drugs, multiple products through single or multiple incisions, and payment for new technology. Their outpatient and physician contracting experience is of similar breath and depth.
